Zachary James Bighorn

Zachary James Bighorn fought the good fight, holding steadfast to his faith and on February 14th, 2023 finished the race.

Zac, a member of the Fort Peck Indian Tribe, was born December 14th, 1983 to Ernest and Teresa Bighorn. He was the oldest brother to his eight siblings Justin, Cherice McGowan, Raeshelle Tod, Seth, Luree Galvin, Lane, and Tayden with 12 nieces and 10 nephews. Grandson to Ernest Bighorn, and Lindy Bighorn. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer, and his three children, Zephaniah, Tristan and Lilianna.

Zac had a passion for education, gaming, and Brazilian Jujitsu; but most of all his life was led by his love for God. He had a very playful, light hearted disposition, always joking with a contagious laugh and ear to ear grin. Once he mastered a skill, he loved sharing his knowledge. He was a dedicated mentor with the ability to see the potential in someone that they otherwise could not see in themselves.

His greatest purpose in life was to walk with Christ and be a light in this world that cannot be diminished. May we learn from Zac’s example, that we may join him in God’s eternal radiance

Zac will be remembered fondly by those who knew him as selfless, dedicated, and loving. He will be deeply missed, yet will live on in the memories of those whose lives he touched. We are all blessed to have known Zac, because simply knowing him has brought tremendous joy to us all.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Zac on Monday, March 6th, 2023 at Gilbert Memorial Park, 2100 E Queen Creek Road, Gilbert, AZ 85297
