About William Craig Scallon
William Scallon passed away at the young age of 14 on January 2, 2024, after a Dirt Bike accident in Gilbert, AZ. Will was adopted at birth by Greg and Stephanie Scallon on September 29, 2009. Will was obsessed with two things as a young boy: being a superhero and football. In his later years, Will was known to his family, friends, coaches, and mentors as genuine, funny, loyal, kind, and a young man of character.
His favorite activity was playing football and he had dreams to one day play at the NFL level. Graciously, God blessed Will with size, speed, talent and most importantly work ethic. Will began playing football at the young age of 5 with his preschool friends which to this day continue to be his longest lasting friend relationships. He moved on to tackle football at the age of 10 and played 4 years for the Chandler Gilbert Tigers. Next year, he had aspirations of playing up with Casteel Colts where he currently goes to school.
Will brought joy to peoples’ hearts through his ability to make them laugh, his contagious smile, and his positive outlook on life. Will’s heart was as genuine as it could possibly be, and he drew good, solid people to him as friends and teammates. He was the defender of the underdog, the supporter of a friend and an advocate for justice. The thing he despised most was to see his momma cry. Will was and continues to be a role model for many…and he will continue to touch the hearts of those who hold onto his memory in the years to come.
William is survived by his loving parents, Greg and Stephanie, his sister, Sydney, and nephew, Kasey. William is predeceased by his grandfather Vernon “Sonny” Payne. Services will be held on January 7th at 3:00 pm at Ironwood church. Please join our family in remembering his bright and beautiful life.
