A Life Remembered

Obituary

Robert Alan Wagner, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026, at the age of 64. Robert was born on May 21, 1961, and spent much of his life in Mesa, where he graduated from Westwood High School in 1979.

Following graduation, Robert faithfully served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Chile. Upon returning home, he met the love of his life, Diana Noble, and the two became engaged to be married. Tragically, just weeks before their wedding, Robert and Diana were struck by a drunk driver while riding a motorcycle only a block from home. The accident left Robert with a traumatic brain injury and blindness, forever changing the course of his life.

Despite the immense challenges he faced, Robert demonstrated extraordinary courage, determination, and faith. With the loving support and assistance of his devoted mother, Alberta Farnsworth Wagner, he relearned how to navigate life and eventually earned a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University–Hawaii. Though his disabilities prevented him from pursuing a teaching career, Robert continued to serve others in meaningful ways.

Robert later served another mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the Mesa Bishops’ Storehouse alongside his mother. He deeply loved helping others there and found great joy in assisting people as they fulfilled their orders. His kindness, perseverance, and gentle spirit touched countless lives.

Robert is survived by his brothers, Clarence Wagner Jr. and his wife Linda Wagner; Andrew “Chris” Wagner Sr.; and his sister, Cathy Bunker. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Arvin Bunker and sister-in-law Debbie Wagner. Robert is also survived by 19 nieces and nephews, as well as numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Robert was a tremendous blessing to all who knew him. His resilience, faith, compassion, and enduring spirit will never be forgotten. Though he endured great hardship in this life, his family finds peace knowing he is now reunited in Heaven with his beloved mother and father and is finally at peace.
