Michele “Shelly” Cabanillas

April 10, 1967 – January 9, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michele “Shelly” Cabanillas, who lost her courageous battle with cancer on January 9, 2025. Shelly was born on April 10, 1967, and was the beloved wife of Alex, devoted mother to Brandon, Brian, and Brooke, and cherished sister to Kara and Chris. She was a loving mother-in-law to Rebecca, Heather, and Jay and a proud Nana to 12 grandchildren who were the light of her life.

Shelly was known for her infectious energy, vibrant personality, and love of life. She was the life of every party, always bringing laughter and joy to those around her. Whether she was traveling, shopping, playing bingo, or enjoying happy hour, Shelly made every moment count. Her radiant blue eyes, warm smile, infectious laugh, and sweet soul left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her father Arnold Buckley, her mother Carol Buckley, her brother Brian “Bubba” Buckley, her paternal grandparents, George and Leota “Toots” Buckley, and her maternal grandparents, Jack and Pearl Meyers.

A celebration of Shelly’s life will be held on February 14, 2025 at Saint Mary’s Church 230 W Galveston St, Chandler, AZ 85225. The rosary will be prayed at 10:30 AM, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow the services. Details regarding the reception will be announced.

Shelly’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
