Michele Kay Befort

Michele was born in Denver, Colorado to Thomas and Frances Nolte in 1964. After high school she chose a career in the medical field, and went to school to be a radiology technologist. Her first job in her chosen field was at St. Anthony Hospital North in Westminster, Colorado.

It was at this job that she would meet her future husband, Keith Befort, who also worked in the radiology department at the hospital. The two started off as friends and roommates, but quickly started a relationship.

Michele and Keith were married on September 28, 1991 in Westminster, Colorado.

Before their first year anniversary, they welcomed their first son, Tyler. Two years later, their second son, Austin, was born. At this time, Michele was specializing in mammography at the hospital.

In 1996, Michele convinced Keith to relocate to the Phoenix area because she loved the heat. She continued doing mammograms at Chandler Regional Medical Center. She then furthered her career by going back to school and became an ultrasound technologist for the hospital. Her passion was performing OB ultrasounds, which she continued to do by working in OB offices.

She was forced into early retirement due to her illness in 2019. Keith retired the same year and the two of them spent the next 7 years spending time with family and friends and traveling as her health would allow.

On October 17, 2026, God decided she suffered enough and the angels took her to Heaven to reunite with all of those that passed before her.

Michele is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Frances Nolte. She is survived by her husband Keith Befort (Queen Creek, AZ); their two sons Tyler Befort (Denver, CO) and Austin (Cassidy) Befort (San Tan Valley, AZ); three grandsons Grayson and Logan Presmyk, and Weston Befort; brother Michael (Julie) Nolte (Berthoud, CO); as well as many family members and friends.

A visitation will be held beginning at 10am on Monday, October 26th, 2026 at A Wise Choice Funeral Home at 9702 E Apache Trail Mesa, Arizona 85207. Services will follow at 12pm. Afterwards, guests are invited to join family at the Befort family home to remember and celebrate Michele’s life.

Michele will be laid to rest at a private burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Please share memories of Michele and condolences with her family in the guestbook below.
