About Margaret "Peggy" Lisonbee Glass

Peggy Glass went from our arms to the arms of her beloved husband, David, last week, leaving with us memories of love, service, sass, and a deep love for her Savior, Jesus Christ.

From the moment she was born, Peggy brought joy to the lives of those around her, from the home of her parents (Lorenzo Lisonbee and Margaret Kleinman Lisonbee) where she made countless memories with her seven siblings, to the communities in Colorado and Arizona that she called home. She had a deep well of love for all those who encountered her, but no one was more precious to her than her husband and her seven children (Kohl, Rainey, JC, Marshall, Mitchell, Jordan, and Melanie) and their families. She supported her children’s dreams unequivocally, while instilling in them a love of laughter, lifelong learning, and family. With the next generation, Peggy instituted Grandkids’ Day: one day a week when her grandchildren would gather at her house for fun activities. She made sure that every member of her family felt her love.

That love overflowed to the community around her as she made service a pillar of her life, beginning with the mission she served in Santiago, Chile for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as a young woman. Even up to her last weeks, as she dealt with her own cancer, Peggy was giving rides, taking neighbors to appointments, and reaching out by telephone to those who needed support. In this, she showed her deepest desire, which was to become closer to and more like Christ.

Peggy Glass was a woman full of great curiosity, abiding love, and unbridled joy. We are grateful to carry a small portion of our beloved mother’s qualities into our future lives.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, and is survived by her seven children, fifteen grandchildren, and four (almost five) great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday, August 15 at 2 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 1054 W Second Pl, Mesa AZ 85201. Those unable to attend in person can see the funeral at https://zoom.us/j/92878093880?pwd=6K6q6b9HBVDWJQzXLwdNPQm9rcKcPL.1
