Obituary
Kit L. Snyder, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away on May 7, 2026. He was born on November 10, 1943, to Charles Earl Snyder and Kathryn “Kay” Stickle in Alliance, Ohio. After serving honorably in the United States Navy, Kit and his family settled in Arizona in 1966. He began a career in civil service at Williams Air Force Base, where he worked faithfully until the base closed in 1993. He later joined the Mesa Public School system in transportation, first serving as a school bus driver and eventually working his way up to supervisor.
Kit is survived by his loving wife, Ingrid Elsa Mawby; his children, Angela Hoover and her husband Jim, Scott Snyder and his wife Connie, and Lisa Thomas-Warren and her husband Ben; his sisters, Malinda “Lynn” Chupp and Cynthia Rock; his half-brother, Kurt Mottern; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Earl Snyder and Kathryn “Kay” Stickle, and his sister, Bonna Ruth Ray and Half Sister Cheryl Sheets.
He will be remembered with love by his family, friends, and all who knew him. A viewing for family and friends will be held at Bunker Family Funeral, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa, AZ 85201, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Casual attire is welcome. Kit’s life was marked by service, dedication, and devotion to his family.
