About Jordan Anthony Richard Koopman
Jordan Koopman, age 18, of Gilbert, AZ, passed away unexpectedly, on September 21st., 2022. Jordan was born in Mesa, AZ on August 1st.,2004. He is survived by his loving family; mother Jessica Baca, younger brother Alex, father Ryan Koopman, grandparents Janet Ramos, Dixie Lane (Don Oswald), Craig Koopman (Diane Buhl), aunts Megan Koopman, Michelle Ramos, Uncle Matthew Ramos and loving cousins.
Jordan was a senior at Autism Academy of Tempe, and Mesa Community College. He was talented in art, making mechanical items with others, including a miniature electric vehicle which won a science award. He enjoyed helping others, especially with the 3 D printer and mathematics class. He had many friends at school and will be missed by the staff and students.
There was a special place in his heart for all creatures and plants that connected him to mother nature.
He was a loving, sweet young man accompanied by his great wit and sense of humor, touching the hearts of those that knew him.
Services will be held Thurs. Sept 29th,2022 at Gilbert Memorial Park,
2100 E. Queen Creek Rd. Gilbert, AZ
Visitation at 10 am – 10:30
Funeral at 10:30 am. A private Burial will follow.

I did not know Jordan Koopman. I saw a small duck in the Navigators Office in Terminal 4 at PHX Sky Harbor International Airport that had a card on it with this name. What a neat thing to do in remembrance.

Jordan was the closest friend I’ve ever had and it just really fucking sucks that he went. He had so much promise in life I’ll forever cherish my memories of him like the stgf and when he taught us all about gambling to get more snacks the goats at the funeral were a really nice touch im gonna miss you dude

Thank you for everything you’ve done for me… Even though I only knew you for less than a year, you’re my best friend of all time, I loved going to random places with you, you always made me laugh, and you made everytime we hung out so much fun. I think of you everyday, and I will never forget you. I’ll miss you so much Jordan, and I’m so thankful for meeting you and getting the chance to be your friend.

even though I only knew Jordan for 1 quarter of the school year, we got along really well. I loved how funny his humor was. one of my favorite memories with him was when our geometry teacher was absent, he would teach the whole class in a very funny manner. he was a great friend to me and everybody in the school. Rest In Peace Jordan.

Jordan was amazing. Logan saw Jordan as his best friend. They were very silly together. I will never forget the day we met him. I instantly liked him and how he carried himself. He will never be forgotten by this family, ever. Our deepest sympathy. We loved him.

Jordan was my student in English class. He was a passionate reader, curious about the world, and carried a desire to know the way in which things operate. He was an old soul, and was familiar with the classics. Jordan had an hilarious sense of humor and would always tell it like it is. The world needs more of that. He will be so missed by AAED. He was a part of our school family and we are all affected deeply by his loss. He was an essential piece in the building of our STEM Explorer class. He will be so missed.

I really enjoyed my time with Jordan as his art teacher. He was very talented and had such a great sense of humor. My favorite part about him was when he really used his talents to help others. It really warmed my heart to see him help the other kids with 3D printing and how excited he got with his ideas. He used to leave teeny tiny rubber duckies on my desk as a joke. It took me a while to figure out who was doing it! Thank you Jordan for the fun bantering and memories you left me. You will be greatly missed!

My son, Skyler was lucky to be one of Jordan’s close friends. For quite a long time he has come home from school with great stories about all the fun times they had together. Jordan will be greatly missed and we wish his family the strength to carry on through this most difficult time.

Jordan was a great friend to me during my time at Autism Academy. I remember we were in Mrs. Brown’s history class and I’m so glad to have been lucky enough to been put in the same group as him because otherwise I may not have been able to befriend him so easily. I remember it’s because of him that I managed to walk all the way from his house to the Target and Michaels further down, and while it was hot and I was kind of complaining due to the heat, having Jordan there with me helped me get through the whole walk. I loved him like a brother and my only regret is not having reached out to him more after I had ‘graduated’ from school earlier than planned. I’d honestly do anything to somehow get a chance to go back in time and be a better friend. I give my deepest condolences to Jessica, Alex, and the rest of Jordan’s family. Especially to Jessica because your son was probably one of the friends who I would’ve wanted to have for the rest of my life. I can’t exactly say why, but I feel like Jordan kinda changed my life in a way. I believe he kinda helped me come out of my shell, and I’m eternally grateful. Jordan shared such a beautiful light and so many amazing gifts with us. We especially enjoyed his love for animals, outdoors and Minecraft skills. My sons Devin and Abdoul enjoyed hanging out with Jordan. Devin valued him as one of his best friends. He was the kindness most generous and the brightest young man. He will be in our hearts forever.
