John Phillip Batchelder

It is with much sadness that we announce that our father, John Phillip Batchelder of Gilbert, Arizona, passed away at the age of 80 on Sept. 11th, 2025.

John was born on August 10th, 1945, in Del Norte, Colorado, to Sidney and Mary Batchelder. He was the youngest of six children.

After he graduated from high school, John worked for McDonnell Douglas for a couple of years. He then obtained his CDL and became a truck driver for Safeway. He logged over 4 million miles accident-free during that time.

John met fellow employee Karen Anderson while working for Safeway. They became inseparable and were married in 1987 for almost 36 years.

John is survived by three daughters, one stepdaughter, one stepson, and many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Karen, daughter Leanne, and his four brothers and one sister.

We will miss him dearly. Currently, a memorial service is not planned.
