A Life Remembered
Obituary
John graduated from St. Cloud State University in 1985, majoring in accounting and German. His studies included six months of study in Germany with a beautiful family that John remained in contact with throughout his life. After dating five years, John married Susan J. Bailey in June of 1985. John and Susan lived in many places during their more than 35 years of marriage and raised two sons (Nicholas Allen and Paul Anthony) and a daughter (Roxanne Rose).
John had a wonderful career in accounting and eventually in IT as a business analyst. Cargill, Inc. in Minnesota was his first employer and afforded him travel to many parts of the world – England, France, Malaysia, Brazil, Amsterdam, Singapore, and Australia, to name a few. He took on a consulting job in Kansas, working for multiple clients throughout the country, then settled into working from Arizona, putting his JD Edwards business analyst skills to great use working for home builder companies initially, and finally as a consultant with a Texas-based company.
John loved music. He played trombone 4th grade to his first year in college, piano from a young age through his final year in college and while in college, learned to play the organ. He loved organ music, and his daily music play list was varied and included everything from hard rock through classical.
John was preceded in death by his parents Don and Marlyce, his brother Ben, and several aunts and uncles. John is survived by his wife Sue; his sons Nic (Ashleigh) and Paul and daughter Roxanne, all of Mesa; brothers Scott and Dave (Michelle); Aunt Marcia Scott of Portland; step-grandchildren Emily and Cooper (Nic and Ashleigh) and multiple, beloved in-laws, nephews, nieces, and much loved friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Shirdi Sai Baba Global Services, 12308 Braddock Drive, Culver City, CA (not a non-profit) would be greatly appreciated. This is the spiritual group with whom John felt so blessed to participate, and where he was so proud to lead the Healers Group – his favorite part of the works we do.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 4th, 1-2 PM, immediately followed by a memorial service at A Wise Choice Cremation and Funeral Services, 9702 E Apache Trail, Mesa, AZ 85207. A link will be provided for remote participation.
