About Jill Ann Hart

Jill Ann Hart, 43, Born September 12, 1981, in Port Angeles, WA. Passed away, in her home, with her family on August 14, 2025. Jill lived a life dedicated to family, friends and community.

Jill moved from Washington to Arizona in 2000 to study design. She had a wonderful career spanning architecture, interior design, and eventually landscape design. She took a break in her design career to raise her kids; do volunteer work; and even went to work at Mesquite Elementary School, where she was honored by the District with a Staff Member of the Year Award.

Jill was a dedicated mother; she was a loving and patient wife; and she was a loyal friend to so many good people in her community. Jill loved playing softball & watching her kids compete in their preferred sports. She was a die-hard baseball fan and loved the saying “Live Life Like a 3-1 Count” she wanted everyone to Take Chances, Swing for the Fences, and then Dance around the Bases…in life and on the field. Jill truly cherished the relationships, the experiences and the journey of life. If she were here, she would say, “Turn off the news; Turn up the music; and sing as loud as you can.”

Jill was diagnosed with stage 4 Colon Cancer in October of 2022. She fought hard and with dignity for nearly 3 years before the disease finally proved too much. She never backed down & she never gave up. Jill is survived by her parents Jayson & Holly Grice, Siblings Jameson & Sarah; her husband Jim & her 3 children Eli, Kaydin & Lainey.

There will be a graveside service for Jill on Saturday, September 6 th at 3:00 PM at Gilbert Memorial Park: 2100 E. Queen Creek Road, Gilbert, AZ 85297. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life Party (details will be posted on Jill’s facebook page.) Please dress in comfortable summer clothing, colors are encouraged.

I was so sad to hear of Jill’s passing. I was fortunate to meet Jill when her son Eli was in my first grade class. Jill was always willing to help out with whatever I needed for the classroom. She volunteered with a smile and sense of humor. I enjoyed my time with Jill. I respected her dedication to Eli’s education and first grade experience. She was such a good mom! Even though it’s been many years since Eli was a first grader, I have never forgotten Jill and her lovely nature. My thoughts and prayers go out to Jill’s family during this difficult time.

My condolences to all. She was loved by many. My heart has been broken for a few weeks. Jill and I spent so much time after school during elementary, and middle school. It felt like every friday night we’d have a slumber party or going to the skating rink. We had tea parties with popcorn, facials, nails, and played cops and robbers with other neighborhood kids. We spent hours jumping on the trampoline, and listening to music. (TLC, Salt n pepa, Nirvana and snoop dog. ) We went to Washington DC together with a group from school. We had our face painted at the Callam County fair. I wish I knew where the picture was of us together. We did scary movie bin watching, and most important we laughed. We giggled, and my heart was fuller than I ever knew it was. In High school, we had our seperate groups, but we still talked. I helped her with a palm tree in art class. She always wanted to live somewhere warm. When I met Jim during high school. I knew he was the one for her, because he would make her laugh. She loved to laugh. She was so happy with him. Her and I would keep in touch on fb messenger. The last thing we chatted about was May day. Last weekend, I went to Port Angeles, and every time I went down Marsden road, I remembered the fishing event we put on, or the rollar skating we would do. The tree we attempted to climb. The lemonade stand we set up in the green house. May day was a day we went to neighbors houses and dropped off flowers. Moments like these will be in my heart forever. Jill touched many lives and she loved her family. My two regrets is that we didn’t take more pictures, and I didn’t go down and see her in Arizona. I’m going to miss you my friend.

To coach Jim and your amazing family, I am so sorry for your loss. Jill was the sweetest soul and gave such a strong fight. I am praying for every one of you. She always gave off this energy that was so contagious, and she always had such high spirits and fought her very hardest.
