Elaine Nelson McIver

Elaine Nelson McIver, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away leaving behind a beautiful legacy of love, faith, and family. She was born on August 12, 1938, in Boulder City, NV, to her loving parents, Herman Evans Nelson and Thora Jane Mickelson Nelson.

On September 12, 1958, Elaine married the love of her life, Walter Anderson McIver. Together, they built a bustling, joyful home and were blessed with eight children. Elaine dedicated her life to raising her family, pouring her heart into making their house a true home. She had a special gift for making holidays magical, striving to make every birthday and Christmas an amazing and memorable experience for her children.

A woman of immense creativity and many talents, Elaine was incredibly crafty. She poured her artistic spirit into sewing, embroidery, painting, and creating intricate miniatures. She loved playing games, going to movies and chatting with friends. Her family will also fondly remember the aroma and taste of her amazing, home-baked whole wheat bread.

Elaine was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a profound love for genealogy, dedicating countless hours to family history work and generously sharing her knowledge by teaching genealogy classes for her church community.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents Herman and Thora, her husband Walt and her son Michael.Elaine is survived by her dear siblings, Phyllis Barber, Stephen Nelson (Linda), and Kathy Gold (Brent). Her legacy of love lives on through her children and her many grandchildren: David McIver (wife Patty, and sons Brad and Jake); Gregory McIver (wife April, and children Nicole, James, Cara, Anna, and Josh); Julie Storey (husband Gary, and children Kristin, Megan, Brandon, and Jason); Lisa Jones (husband Dan, and children Trevor, Kayla, and Alyssa); Laurie Ahlers (husband Robert, and sons Logan and Zack); Alison McIver (husband Joe, and sons Quinn and Max); Michael McIver; and Matt McIver (children Kennedy and Mason), along with her seven great grandchildren with one more on the way.

We welcome all who knew and loved Elaine to join us in remembering and celebrating her life.
