Edward "Jim" Laramie

Edward "Jim" Laramie, 78, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026, surrounded by is family. Born March 9, 1948, in an Mateo, California, Ed lived a full and vibrant life marked by devotion to family and several hobbies. He grew up in Bloomfield, CT on a small family farm where he enjoyed the outdoors and lived in Burlington, CT for 35 years raising his family.

Ed spent more than three decades as a Senior Systems Analyst at CIGNA Healthcare. He was an avid pilot and instructor of single-engine aircraft at Brainard Airport. A natural tinkerer with an inventive spirit, he delighted in working with his hands to create or repair things. He loved downhill skiing and cherished family vacations. He held a special affection for the family dogs who brought him great happiness throughout his life.

Ed is survived by his wife Susan Laramie; his daughter, Sarah Ng’ang’a, and her husband, Andrew of Renton, WA; his son, Michael Laramie, and his wife, Sarah of Gilbert, AZ; his sister, Mary Krivicky and her husband, Al, of Woodbury, CT; his treasured grandchildren, Charlotte, Cecilia, and Luca; and his close friend, Joe Mancini of E. Granby, CT. He was predeceased by his parents, Hope and Louis Laramie, and his brother, Lewis John Laramie.
