About Earl Arthur Gursky
Earl A. Gursky passed away on October 23, 2018 in his home at Brookdale Senior Living Community in Apache Junction, Arizona. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 13, 1932 to Frank and Louise Gursky. He is survived by his daughter, Delri L. Hanson; granddaughter Taryn Golden (Brad); and his great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Frank Gursky (Pat), and their son, Alan. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert P. Gursky, and former wife, Dolores A. Gursky.
Earl was in the US Navy for 20 years, serving that time in submarines. After retiring from the Navy, he managed the Brookside Winery in Tempe, AZ for a few years until it closed. He then finished his schooling to be certified as a teacher and worked for the Unified Payson School District for 13 years. He taught 4th and 5th grades, making a huge impact on many young lives during that time.
Earl had a heart for children and animals; he visited the Apache Junction animal shelter often with treats for all the dogs and cats. He had hoped to one day open an animal rescue. Earl has been living in Apache Junction, AZ for the last 40 years.
A memorial Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 4, 2018 at Brookdale Senior Living, 2080 South Ironwood Drive, Apache Junction, Arizona 85120.
