Clinton Matthew Anderson

Clinton Matthew Anderson peacefully passed away on July 12th in our arms and with many family by his side. Clinton was born on October 22nd 2022 in Phoenix Arizona. Clinton had a congenital heart defect called hypoplastic left heart syndrome or HLHS. He battled it courageously all the way to the very end while waiting for a heart transplant. He accomplished his goal of attaining a body. He fought the good fight and his Heavenly Father needed his valiant special spirit to return home. Clinton has much work to do on the other side.

He touched many lives in his short life. He is so loved by all his family including his PCH (Phoenix Children’s Hospital) family. The incredible work of the doctors, nurses, and transplant team made it possible for us to have almost nine months of precious time with our baby. During Clinton’s life at PCH, he did many amazing things that can only be described as miracles. He held the PCH record for youngest child ever to be placed on a Berlin heart pump. He holds the PCH record for time spent on ECMO (heart support). He had so much grit and determination to survive. Clinton will be known for his cute smile and his love for head rubs by his daddy. He will famously be known for his glaring side eye when the nurses would poke and prod too much. The nurses did finally win him over. He loved to be read to, especially by his mommy, with her soft soothing voice.

He is survived by his parents Matthew and Shelley, sisters Mollie, Mallory, Rebecca and one brother Jacob. He is also survived by his grandparents, great grandparents, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Carla Anderson, his cousin Kyla Anderson and many great grand parents.

A viewing will be held on Friday July 21st from 5pm to 7pm at “Bunkers” Gilbert Memorial Park Cemetery & Funeral Home 2100 E Queen Creek rd. Gilbert 85297.

There will be a viewing on Saturday July 22nd at 9am followed by a funeral service at 10am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 37280 W Bowlin rd. Maricopa 85138. Interment will be 3pm at City of Mesa Cemetery 1212 N. Center st. Mesa 85201.
