About Charlotte Annette Kramer
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Charlotte Annette Kramer, who left us on March 8 th at the age of 65 leaving a profound void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Born on February 11 th in Lancaster, CA, Charlotte started her career as an Explorer with West Covina Police Department. She then became a dispatcher and after many years took a Dispatch Supervisor position with Los County Fire Department. She dedicated her career to public service earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and the community alike. While working she was able to complete a degree from Pitzer College. Charlotte then worked with Rowland Unified School District working with special needs students.
Charlotte was passionate about animals and always had a variety of pets, including a horse, a raccoon, numerous dogs and cats, and her beloved bird Mellie. She cherished moments and adventures spent with family and friends. The mountains of Southern California were her special place. She enjoyed hiking with friends and her faithful dog Honey.
Charlotte is survived by her sister Becky (Jerry) Kolesiak; brother Bert Kramer; nephew Nicky; niece Amy. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents Bertel & Flora Kramer.

I’m in shock to hear this Charlotte and I grew up together in West Covina Ca She lived down the street from me we were good friends all through junior high and high school I just tried to find information on her and this came up I’m deeply saddened rest in peace my friend

Charolette, you were one in a million! I have such fond memories of me training you to be a CSO, especially when we stopped at your house for Code 7 and your pet raccoon went into attack mode and chased us into the bathroom, we had to escape our the bathroom window! May you RIP……

So many memories we made while she was in WC. And so much I miss about her. WCPD training sessions, choir practice, baseball games, and all the calls we took. Her 3am calls afternher arm break were always a treat. Changing my water ski handles to accommodate the difference in arm lengths. Midweek trips to the lake. Feeding nasty Ivan and didn’t get bit. Her pet raccoon. So many more. I wish we would have been able to get that conversation in on the 6th. Know that you will be missed by all who knew you. I’ll add some more nicknames… Carlotta and Krash. They will always only be for you!

It’s hard to put into words what it means to lose someone who has been a constant in your life for nearly forty years. My best friend was a rare soul, a brilliant mind whose intelligence never ceased to amaze me. But it wasn’t just her intellect that defined her—it was her humor, quick and full of life, that always had the power to make any moment lighter, any challenge easier to face. She was a loyal friend, always there, no matter the distance or time apart. Her loyalty was steadfast, and her love, unconditional. But above all, it was her love for her sister that shone through in everything she did. The bond they shared was unbreakable, a source of joy, comfort, and unwavering support. I will miss her more than words can say, but I will forever carry the lessons she taught me—of strength, laughter, and the importance of love. She will always be in my heart.

Char was one of my first supervisors and the Fire Department. She was always fun and believed in me. She mentored me into becoming the supervisor that I become. Thanks for being the person who made me a better employee. I have missed your laugh and sense of humor. Thanks for gracing my life.

I’ve known Charlotte since I was twelve and I feel incredibly privileged to have known such an exceptional woman. Charlotte was an vital component of my family’s lives for many years. She was an incredible friend to my mother, a comfort to everyone in my family during difficult times and an amazing Godmother to my two children. Charlotte is sorely missed and a void is now left in the lives of all who were honored to know her. I love and miss you, Char, but I know you are looking down upon us and having a blast in Heaven. I hope that we will do you proud!

Growing throughout my childhood, I got the privilege to meet and converse with my Auntie Charlotte on several occasions. She was a kindred soul with a strong passion for animals and a love for nature. She put smiles on the faces of everyone in the room just by being there. I remember that one day we were celebrating her birthday and just talking and having fun with her. That was the very last day I saw her in person… all I ever wanted was to be able to see her bright smile again, now I’ll never get that chance. Words cannot describe the sorrow that I feel for both her surviving family members and those that knew her well. Only sending my most heartfelt condolences and love to them in the name of this strong, passionate, and generous lady. I love you, Auntie Char.

Our family was immensely blessed to have Auntie Charlotte. I remember when I was a young boy I used to cook up little things and, although in retrospect they were likely gross, she would always try them for me. She was a great friend of my grandmother’s, and all of us consider her to be family.

Dear Becky and Jerry, We’re sending our love and prayers at this very sad time. We love Charlotte (Char, Charlie) and have wonderful memories of her. It’s hard to believe she is not with us here but we rejoice that she is in Heaven with the Lord and with her loved ones. (What a wonderful reunion they are having!) Yes, Charlotte was an animal lover to the core. I remember when she was a child, she heard a kitten cry out in the desert. No one else could hear the kitten, but she could and she rescued it and brought it home. And I remember when Mellie was at your parent’s home and the phone would ring. Mellie would squak and say, “It’s Charlotte! It’s Charlotte!” Mellie loved that girl. We were proud of her many accomplishments and great service to humanity. What a gem. I had the pleasure of working with Char when I was first hired at Dispatch. She was the nieces happiest most welcoming supervisor ever! I will miss her beautiful smile…and the way she use to say my name.
