A Life Remembered
Obituary
Charlotte Ann Flatley, a beacon of kindness and unwavering support, peacefully passed away on April 13, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion that touched the lives of many. Born in Los Angeles, California, on March 2, 1940, Annie spent her formative years under the loving care of her grandmother, Hannah Elizabeth Pugmire, in Niles, California, until age sixteen. At seventeen, she embarked on a journey of love and family, marrying Richard Thomas Flatley and raising five children together.
Annie exuded warmth and generosity throughout her life, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her heart overflowed with love for her family, friends, and community. Despite facing the challenges of divorce after thirty-two years of marriage to Richard, Annie remained resilient and devoted to her children, never wavering in her commitment to their well-being.
Annie was preceded in death by her grandmother who raised her Hannah Elizabeth Pugmire, her father, Fred Matterson Leebert, her mother, Ellenor Pugmire Leebert, and her siblings: Velma Hauser (George), Thelma Burton (Ed), Lois Quinn (Thurman), Phyllis Gallagher (Frank), Donald Leebert (JoAnn), and Shirley Saxon (Bill).
She is survived by her beloved sister, Wanda Milius (Ernie), and her beloved brother, Ralph Leebert (Sharlene).
Additionally, her five beloved children survive her: William Joseph Flatley, Richard Kenneth Flatley, Michael Andrew Flatley (Lisa), Elizabeth Ann Flatley, and Mary Kathleen Flatley (Hugo Sebastian Morelli).
Her legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren: Robert Flatley (Colleen Lockhart), Kirsten Flatley, Charlotte Dannielle Bruning (Calvin), Blake Jennings, Christopher Medina (Tawny), Donald G. Webb III (Teresa), Justin Webb (Savanah Snyder), and Avi Morelli.
Additionally, she leaves behind a host of great-grandchildren: Delainey Flatley, Misti Walker, Jonathan Walker, Ryan Bruning, Grayson Bruning, Scarlett Bruning, Lacey Medina, Kira Medina, Kayla Webb, Daniel Webb, Tristan Webb, Avery Webb, Lucas Metzger, and Callie Metzger and a host of cousins and nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Annie’s passion for life was infectious, and she found joy in the simple pleasures of dancing and singing. Her compassionate nature led her to volunteer in the Marine Corps Family Readiness Organization and participate in Marine Corps Family Team Building, where she provided invaluable support to Marine Corps families. As a Special Education Teacher’s Aide, Annie touched the lives of countless children, nurturing their growth and fostering a love for learning. Her most joyous time was spent teaching Sunday School in Primary to the six-year-old children she loved dearly and volunteering in the Young Women’s Organization at church.
Annie’s presence brought light and comfort to those around her everywhere she went. Her legacy of kindness, resilience, and selflessness will continue to inspire generations. Charlotte Ann Flatley will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched with her boundless love and unwavering compassion.
