About Bobby L. Austin, Sr.

It is with heavy heart that our family announces the passing of Bobby L Austin Sr. 73 of Gilbert AZ. He passed away April 22, 2020. Bobby was born in Phoenix Az to William and Vera Austin. He is survived by his son Bobby Austin Jr. (daughter-in-law Misty), son Jason Austin, his sister Sharon Moore and family and his fiancé Laverne Hebert. Bob was proceeded in death by his parents and his sister Marilyn. He will be dearly missed as he touched the hearts of everyone that met him. His true passion in life was his family, watching TV westerns (especially the ones with John Wayne), watching Football (most importantly his favorite team the Dallas Cowboys), fishing and going to the sprint car races any chance he could. Bob spent his career working for and retiring from the Roosevelt School District. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Arizona Heart Institute. Bobby Jr. and Ms. Laverne, my sincere condolences on the passing of “Bob”, the kindest, gentle and compassionate person I have ever has the pleasure of working with. I am so sadden to find this news of Bob’s passing; and to find it almost a year later. The last time we spoke last year I had know idea it would be literally the last time. He was always ready to assist in any way he could. Rest in peace “Bobbilito”! Thanks for our friendship over the years from Rosa Linda to Campbell and into retirements. Bobby was our neighbor and friend – our fix it guy whenever we had a problem that need to be repaired. He would never hesitate to help in any way he could help. He was a kind and gentle man. We would chat with him almost every day. He was a great dad to his family and neighbor and we will miss him. RIP Bobby

Bobby oh, I will never forget you. You are the the boy next door with the little sister that became my very best friend. You always made sure that we didn’t get into trouble and was there if we did. I’ve only just reconnected with you in the last few years and I will miss you very much. Both Bobby and Butch are now in heaven you guys are probably the Three Musketeers raising hell all over the place. I’ll never forget you.

Bob, You have been a part of my life since I was a teenager. You welcomed my sister into your family with open arms and in return you became a big part of my families lives as well. I knew every time I saw you we would exchange sarcastic remarks, hugs and your infamous pinches to the back of my arm. Words cannot express how much you’re going to be missed. Your soul was pure and your heart was big. Family holidays and birthdays will be forever changed but you’ll never be forgotten. I will always carry those precious memories in my heart. Rest In Peace. Bob (Papa Bob) There are no words that could truly convey how much you will be missed. The love you showed my wife, daughter and I speaks volumes to the man you are. Thank you for all of the great memories from birthday parties and our recent wedding to the nights spent at the sprint car races buying raffle tickets.
