Billy Corwin Blunt

Billy Corwin Blunt, 91, of San Tan Valley, Arizona, passed away peacefully at home on July 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Billy was born on May 24, 1935, in Horton, Kansas, to James Frederick Blunt and Charlotte Pauline (Shelhammer) Blunt. From an early age, he developed the values that would define his life: faith, service, devotion to family, and an unconditional love of food.

A proud United States Marine, Billy served his country with honor during both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. His military service was a source of great pride, and his love for God and country never wavered. During the Vietnam War, he was granted furlough where he reunited with the love of his life, Donna, for a precious week together in Waikiki.

After retiring from the United States Marine Corps, Billy devoted himself to his family and community. As Scoutmaster for his two sons, he found great joy in helping shape young lives, proudly watching both of them earn the rank of Eagle Scout. His loving and nurturing commitment to his daughter encouraged her independence, love of learning, and heart for service, inspiring her to become a teacher and carry on his legacy. He loved camping, fishing, sharing good meals with family and friends, and was always happiest when surrounded by the people he loved.

Billy never met a stranger. His warm smile, generous spirit, and easy conversation made everyone feel welcome. His unwavering Christian faith guided every aspect of his life, and those who knew him witnessed his compassion, humility, and steadfast devotion to God.

Above all else, Billy fiercely loved his family. They were his greatest accomplishment and the center of his world. He is survived by his beloved wife Donna; his children, Rick (Elise) Blunt, Randy (former spouse Brenda) Blunt, and Jennifer (John) Bonner; his brothers, Skip and Jack, and sisters, Toni and Cheryl; his five grandchildren, Ryan (Autumn), Stephanie (Chris), Amanda (Nate), Sarah, and John Michael; and his six great-grandchildren, Piper, Ryder, Josie, CJ, Iris, and Robin.

In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held. His family will honor his memory privately and, one day, fulfill his final wish by scattering his and Donna's ashes together in the beautiful waters of Waikiki.

His family finds comfort in knowing that he is now at peace with his sight restored and in the presence of his Lord and Savior.
