Nelson Paul Baumann

Nelson Paul Baumann, 90, passed away on December 18,2018 in Fountain Hills, Arizona. He was born on December 18, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois.
Nelson grew up in the Portage Park area of Chicago, Illinois. He enjoyed his youth and spent much of his time with his beloved brother Bill and cousins Ron & Marilynn. He demonstrated a high level of intelligence and was admitted to the United States Merchant Marine Academy where he graduated as a Marine Engineer in December 1950. Nelson had a successful 45 year career as an engineer with DuPont and was a 50 year member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Nelson met his loving wife Alice of 65 years while attending the USMMA in Great Neck, NY. He had a life long affection for baseball and the Chicago Cubs. He loved to spend time with family, reading and traveling with Alice.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Wood Baumann; his children, Diane McGhee Valle, Don and wife, Tonya, Baumann, Carolyn and husband, Scott, Davis; grandchildren, Christine, Jonathan, Michael, Kaitlyn, Laura, Colleen, Sean; and great grandchildren, Samatha, Liam, Fiona and Elise.

The family will be holding private services.
