Obituary
Allan Lee Watts, 78, of Gold Canyon, Arizona passed away February 8, 2023, at Home surrounded by his loving family after a short battle with Cancer. He was Born in Spokane Washington, to Leon Harry Watts and Jessie May Zapata, both Deceased.
Allan was raised in Roswell, New Mexico until moving to Arizona in 1956 were he attended grade school in Mammoth, Arizona and High School in San Manuel, Arizona.
Allan joined the United States Air Force in 1962 and served for four years, two months and two days. He attended Mesa Community College and Arizona State University and obtained multiple certificates in Mechanics while working part time to support his family.
Allan joined Montgomery Wards in 1972 as a Service Mechanic eventually advancing to District Manager where he was responsible for the Southwest Region. Allan retired from Wards after 23 years to enjoy a more entertaining career as Store Manager for Camping World in Mesa, AZ where he worked for 15 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Melva; children, Tammy (Ron) Engfer, Sherri (James) Hayes, Shelly (Rocky Moncada) Watts, six grandchildren, nine great -grandchildren, Sister Shirley (Robert) Papasodero, as well as beloved Cousins.
Allan loved camping, fishing, hunting and the precious time he spent with his family. He was a man of incredible character, deep devotion and was well-respected by all who knew him.
Family and friends are welcome to attend an Open House Celebration of Life, which will be held at the home of Allan and Melva Watts on March 4, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Please contact the family for directions.
